Public Health Day 2022: Racism is a Public Health Crisis -- Moving Towards Equity

Please join us virtually Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2022 at noon for the 8th Annual Public Health Day at the Roundhouse event. This event is co-sponsored by the New Mexico Department of Health, the New Mexico Alliance of Health Councils and the New Mexico Public Health Association.  

Schedule 

11:45am: Public Health Showcase -- a carousel of slides depicting local and statewide public health organizations

12:00 - 1:15pm: Virtual press conference featuring NMDOH Cabinet Secretary, health council leaders, NMPHA leadership and other statewide public health organizational representatives. Virtual visits with racial equity organizations to learn more about their work.

2:00 - 3:30pm: Principles of Meaningful Land Acknowledgements for Non-Native-Led Organizations with Sheena Tallis-Tallman, NMPHA Racial Equity Consultant

All Day: Public health advocates are encouraged to contact their legislators to provide education and express your views on state public health needs

ASL interpretation and Spanish language translation will be provided.
